What is cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a simple, gentle and well-documented form of treatment. By using cryotherapy to freeze a specific area of your nose, you achieve long-lasting relief. The procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and is performed under local anaesthetic.
How does the treatment take place?
One of the clinic’s ear-nose-throat doctors applies local anesthetic to the nose before the actual treatment. A small, hand-held instrument is placed endoscopically in your nose, after which a precise area is frozen using CO2.
Does it hurt?
You can feel slight pressure and a cooling sensation in the nose and possibly around your teeth in the upper mouth. There may be some discomfort, but few people describe it as painful.
When do you feel a result?
Most patients experience a clear improvement already 7 to 30 days after the treatment.

Is cryotherapy for me?
Many patients experience a great effect from cryotreatment, but unfortunately we cannot treat everyone. You cannot receive cryotherapy if:
• Your nasal septum is very crooked. If necessary, get an assessment at a preliminary examination at the clinic.
• You have severe high blood pressure.
• You are on anticoagulation treatment. However, you can be treated just fine if you simply take Magnyl.
Are you on CPAP treatment?
Many CPAP users experience pronounced difficulty in getting air through the nose. Cryotherapy may be able to remedy this.
